Dorothea Taylor, 85, defended her husband from an angry moose by grabbing a shovel to beat off the crazed animal in Alaska.

An albatros almost casued a major flight incident when it collided with a Japanese Coastguard patrol aeroplane on Wednesday.
The bird smashed a one-metre wide hole into the Bombardier DHC8-315's nose as it flew at just 300 metres over the East China Sea. An 85-year-old woman is still fighting for her life after being hit on the head by a falling cat while walking across the road - seven months ago.
Opera singer Betty Deli was knocked unconscious and suffered a fractured skull in July - spending six weeks in a coma.

Kittens Fred and Ned are no ordinary cats – they are polydactyl cats. While most cats have 18 toes, Fred has an extra 10 digits and Ned has eight.

Leopard goes on rampage in Indian City
A fully grown leopard attacked and injured four people after it strayed into a residential area in the north-east Indian city of Guwahati today.
The locals were seriously wounded by the leopard after it ran into a house on the busy Nabagraha Road in a central residential neighbourhood of Silphukhuri.
An auto rickshaw driver managed to cage the panicked leopard inside the house, which was kept locked until forest department officials arrived and sedated the animal.
